Chongqing Cummins Engine Co., Ltd.,
is a 50:50 Sino-American joint venture
established between Chongqing Machinery
& Electric Co., Ltd. in October 1995.
Currently the number of employee is
about 1,400. The former is Chongqing
Automobile Engine Plant, which began to
design and manufacture diesel engine
from 1950s.
Chongqing Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. is
the starting point for Cummins to
achieve localized production in China,
and it is also the largest professional
manufacturing plant for heavy duty and
large power Cummins engine in China. In
1981, Cummins has officially signed the
license agreement with the former China
National Heavy Duty Truck Group, and
began production of large horsepower
Cummins diesel. Chongqing Cummins
contributes greatly for the rapid
development of Cummins business in
China.
